Any experience with, or information on this guitar would be appreciated.
I've looked into it a bit myself, but the one I have my eye on is on the Korean version of ebay, so I'm shopping sight unseen. If anyone knows they go for in North America, that would also be helpful. Thanks.

If your living in america try buying from there. I'd be very carefull touching ANYTHING to do with korea on Ebay. Try searching the american Ebay. I've heard great things about these guitars but i've never had the chance to try one.

I'm living in Korea. I'm thinking that might help me as Seagulls are relatively unknown over here. But yeah, I'm nervous with ebay, especially in Korea. That's also why I want to know about prices. Thanks again.

Is it true that the likes of Epiphone are dirt cheap out there?

Well, any guitar that is made in Korea or Japan is probably cheaper here than most places. Also, this is Asia so misleading knock-offs are everywhere. You have to look carefully.

Seagull guitars are very nice. I have played a Seagull Grand Acoustic for an extended period of time and I loved it. It had a very nice low end. The S6s, well I've played one in a guitar shop once for a few minutes and I liked it too. I'm considering buying one as well. They're about $350 Canadian, but the thing is, I'm judging that on the fact that it's a Canadian (Quebecois) company, I live in Southern Ontario in Canada, and the place where I usually look at guitars gets them and the Godins (same company, but electric) right from the factory. Check out their website at:

If you haven't allready.

Thanks, yeah I've been to there site, which gave me lots of info, but of course no prices. The internet is good and bad, in that you get so much information it'll make your head spin. From what I've read, $350 CDN is the cheaest yet. The one I'm thinking about is three years old(should be fine unless the owner is an idiot) for 220,000 won with hard case and shipping, which would be about $285CDN, or $140 US. I "m thinking it might be a good deal, but want to hear some other opinions. Thanks.

I have an S-6 cutaway with Quantum II electronics. I like it, it sounds good plugged and unplugged. Seems like it went for around $400.

I bouhgt an S6 CW about 4 yrars ago for $600 with hardshell case. It's hopefully the only guitar I'll ever play! It may look like Willie Nelson's when I'm done, but it sure sounds good! I quit shopping and looking I like it so much. So if you can get one, I reccomend it.

A Seagull for $140 (US) seems a good deal to me. I've played them before and they sound wonderful, and play easily. I felt it was a very well rounded guitar, comfortable, with a very nice tone to it. I picked up my Yamaha F-310 for $60 (US) in an antique shop (go figure).

I certainly think a Seagull is a good guitar, but as for getting one through eBay, I'd be very very very careful! Best of luck!

To buy something through eBay you just need to know what your doing and who your dealing with, then theres no danger.

I've got the Artists Series.. I picked it up used from a crack head, that needed a fix.. lol... I got it for a very cheap!!!

I've had it now for nearly 3 years, and I'd never part with it... I love the way it sounds...

In my price book, it says the s6burstGT.. goes for 489. I'd only imagine, that's American Dollars, so Canadian Dollars.. would be a lot less...

I'm afraid I can't comment on any of the Korean built models, nor how E-Bay works in Korea... ( It certainly does suck in America!!!)

I'd be a tad bit leary of it... but you may get lucky and be able to get a good deal. Hell, if they have pawn shops there, I'm certain, there would be a fine lot of decent guitars, the service men have left.... give that a try...

It was made in Canada, but I didn't get it. I was thinking too much, and someone snagged it before me, and now I'm kicking my ass. I guess I was a little overcautious, but I've never used ebay, or any kind of homeshopping for that matter. Oh well, thanks for all the feed back.

A Canadian guitar? Where you live Takamines probably grow on trees, both Korean and Japanese. biggrin.gif
