well i though things were crapping out at first when they had a typo in the programme. i said that classical gas was ARRANGED by eric clapton but they had it as written by him, i was harangued about nine times about how it was written by williams.. i told them i knew and that i even owned the orginal vinyl had some good conversations about it, and just about missed my cue from chattin too much and getting caught up in the montreal-boston hockey game upstairs.
so anyway, when i got on i noticed that the audience was a bit dead (i knew this because i think some people were mad that they passed up the flames game for this.. so i decided i'd let everyone know over the PA that montreal was winning. i got a good response. so i got to playing, i was incerdibly relaxed, despite cutting my main picking finger (index) shortly before, i stabbed through the callous on the high E string while tuning. and i had a very sore middle finger on the fret hand.
i could have played the song itself but to be quite honest most people didn't notice. i got a lot of kudos and most people were impressed at how composed and relaxed i was. a lot of people gave me kudos on a job well done and was even invited to do some intermission stuff at my school's battle of the bands despite being turned down the week before when i sent in my demo tape. so it went really well. i jammed with some people after my peformance, well it was more or less me playing guitar and a bunch of people singing. i was disappointed that no one knew the words to any james taylor songs so i sang for them, and a good time was had by all... sadly i wasn't allowed any alcohol...
