Hey, I'm new here, and I been playing guitar for 3 days! I used to play when I was little (8) but I stopped. I still got my old music and I can play that no trouble. I have been branching out into Rock songs aka Stairway to Heaven and i can playt a bit of the start of it. The first few bars neways. I was wondering, does anybody know any tabs that I should download to help me improve my playing. I'm really new so a song that aint too hard but will challenge me would be good. I can play Yesterday by the beatles. Well, the bit of it that I have. I really want to improve and eventually move into Electric.

Any help there would be graetly appreciated.

Cheers

Um...
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Adam's Song - Blink 182
Time of Your Life - Greenday.

Fly Away - Lenny Kravitz

It's really an electric song, but it's only 5 barre chords, and it's the same thing the whole way thru the song. When you're just beginning, playing a song with alot of different parts(Stairway) can be tough. If you can play along with the recording you should be able to pick it up in a few minutes.

It's:

A - B (hit this once and slide to) C - G - D

All of the chords are root 6 major barre chords, except the D, it's a root 5 major barre chord.

The guitar solo is a piece of cake too. Bend the high A note (17th fret) on the high E string and slide down the neck...that's it.

Thanks.

I can play a bit of Stairway now, more than before. It is quite easy at times because it is very similar the whole way through. The acoustic bit is the easiest.

I'll look at the ones mentioned and see what I can do.

Thanks again

instead of just playing other's stuff, learn some scales, practice picking till you grow bored of it, and then practice some more. then it will be much easier for you to write your own stuff, and play others stuff if that is what you are after

First, learn as many chords as you can (and get good at them). Work on scales and speed. If you like the Beatles, "Blackbird" is a fairly easy and some-what challenging song to play. It sounds great.

you might want to start with some finger exercises to warm up and improve up and down picking.

PM me if you want i can tab some great finger picking exercises or you could tab them your self.

switch things up like going from one string to another with 3 notes on one and 2 on another string and using your pinky (thats what most beginners forget).
