Some of the best jam bands are the ones that lived together while making music.
Family is the same way I am sure. Do I even need to mention Tenacious D? biggrin.gif

There is a fine line between insanity and genius and I think i crossed it...but what side I am on is still unclear.

John Renbourn is my acoustic guitar idol. He is, in my humble opinion, a musical genius. Everything he does is tasteful and melodic. Just as people mention Segovia when talking about classical music made available for guitar, so will Renbourn's name be mentioned in the future when talking about Celtic and pre-Renaissance music made available for guitar. I'm glad to hear someone else in GTU has not only heard of him, but likes him. One of my favorite Renbourn CD's is "Sir John Alot". If you haven't heard it yet, check it out.

Ben Harper rocks.... he's better than anyone else live (saw him on tv on austin city limits). His songwriting is amazing and he's one of the best silde players today.

i like the fact that he's so humble too. never gets cocky with anyone from what i hear.

yeh, glory & consequence off the live from mars album is the best version! not as fond of the acoustic version but it's still good! has anyone seen the live at the hollywood bowl dvd? it sent chills down my spine when they did 'blessed to be a witness,' its got no guitar in it but ben plays this weird thingo, and it is sooo beautiful! also when they do like a king in that dvd, it is such a powerful performance! ben's a great slide guitarist, but i'd have to say that john butler is amazing, in australia definately the best 'mainstream' guitarist... only saying that because he has only recently reached commercial radio stations on a large scale basis.anyone else a john butler fan?
