I have been playing the guitar for about a year and a half and would call myself and intermediate guitarist. I play and Ovation celebrity CK057.
anyway, I find myself playing the same six songs over and over again. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on new songs for me to learn so i can get out of this rut.
I like zeppelin, eagles, Tesla, peter paul and mary style accoustic songs
Thanks for the help

What six songs do you play so we don't list them
If you are stuck in one genre, pick a new one. Try playing everything from the beatles to jack johnson...

California Dreamin' - mamma's and the papas.
Apparitions - Matthew good band
Little Wing - Hendrix
Hey Joe - Hendrix
Piano man - EJ (sounds kinda funny, but it works!)
Blackbird - Beatles
Angie - rolling stones
Hotel California - Eagles (I'm sure you've already covered this, but just in case!
)
Listen to Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds (live at luther college) and get back to me.

thanks for the input
Sorry 7 songs
i play zeppelin - baby im gonna leave you
- Stair way
Mongomery gentry - lonely and gone
Eagles - hotel cali ( hell freezes over ver. )
Johnny cash - hurt
Tesla - that s the way it is ( off five man accoustic jam)
Staind - Its been a while
and bits and pieces of clapton, peter paul and mary, skynard, nugent ect..
i just need a couple of songs i guess with some good fingure picking to play around the campfire. They need to be interesting enough that some one can enjoy them with out knowing the words ( can sing and play though if needed ). Im 22 so most of my buddies are into rap and other crappy R&B music. I dont have any friends who play the guitar so its hard to get into new material when its just my head thinking
ya know
Thanks again
I'll check into some of the suggestions, i take it most of these songs are off popular albums so thell be easy to find?

Fingerpicking songs are always good by the campfire:
Try learing classical gas by clapton, that will boggle your mind for a while. Plus it leads you to be able to play other good finger picking songs. Dust in the wind, blackbird, I'll be here a while by 311(good travis plucking example) are both goodies too. blister in the sun by the violent femmes is catchy too.
Between those and what others are/will post, you should be fine for awhile.
