My uncle has a Yammy Eterna EF-15. It was originaly my Dad's my Mom bought it for him (My Mom said she payed about $170 CDN) before i was born, i was born in 1988. (I believe the guitar was made some time in the 80's). My Dad didn't have a musical bone in him so he sold it to his brother in law who comes from a very musical family. However he had never played the guitar before and didn't bother playing it very much at all. Now its just sitting in my uncles house and im looking for a new acoustic . I'm heading over to his house in a week or so to visit them im gunan ask him if I can buy it off of him.
Now my question is. Has anyone ever played one or heard anything about them? materials? solid/laminated? I can't find much information about it. Although I did find one website that had a picture of it...here. Its a dreadnought (possibly a spruce top?).

Yea my friend used to own one of those bad boys and it was a piece of garbage. He hated the thing so much that we just put it out on the road and got his bro to run over it at a decent speed in his car. Lets just say that watchin that thing explode gave my friend more joy than playing it. My suggestion is to save up and buy an Alvarez. tongue.gif Good luck with ur search on the acoustic journey.

Then my suggestion to u is to go down to downtown halifax. Hide in some bushes on the water front. Wait. Wait then when u see some bum playin an acoustic for money jack it and high tail it bak to ur house. Ya never know what a bum might be carrying though I have seen this task achieved however the guiar wasnt all of the greatest and they ended up seelin it to a pawn shop.

For anyone who cares. I finaly played this guitar here's the specs:
- Laminated spruce top
- Mahogany sides, back, neck and believe it or not finger board (painted black on the top)
- Plastic: Pins, Saddle, Nut and Tuning nobs
- Not sure what the bridge is made of but I know it's not rosewood (possibly mahogany painted black)

Action is ok. It would be a nice guitar to do repairs on. Like people were wanting in another topic.

Anyways the mystery is solved! tongue.gif

With acoustics you do get what you pay for it...so if you get a low end guitar, you will get low-end quality.

It would be a fine learing guitar, but the action will be higher than a more expensive guitar, and it won't play as good...but for a LEARNERS guitar, it would prolly be "ok".

If you have it, keep it, if you haven't bought it...go ahead and try to save up...althoguh I know how hard that is.
