One of my friends bought himself an electro acoustic after Christmas, he said it was made by swift, who I've never heard of and I can't find any information about them. I can't ask him about it him since he's not in college anymore. It had quite a nice deep tone and seemed to be well made.
Anyone know anything about Swift guitars?

I've never heard of Swift before. You might want to ask him again, he might have told you wrong.
But my other guess would be that Swift guitars are one of those very small-time businesses that only stretch to a couple of towns. If that's the case, then you, or anyone else, most likely wouldn't have heard of them. So maybe that's it?
P.S.
I like the guitar in your sig.

Hi,
I have indeed heard of Swift guitars. As I've just bought an electrical pink one from him. He's based in London and I think the guitars are made by Brian Swift. He has a shop on ebay called nowthenourkid.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/nowthenourkidshop is his store. Not recieved the guitar yet, so I can't say whether they are any good or not! So that's m two pennies for what it's worth

Hi
I've been looking at the Swift basses on EBay (I can afford one of theirs at the mo and it's just for pub sessions & home studio) so would you let me/the forum know what it's like when you get it?
Sure it'll be great...
Cheers.

The guitar came yesterday. Now for £49 I'm happy, well very happy. Don't expect it to be a pristine fender just out the factory. I've ordered the pink one (for the missus!).
It looks laminated rather than painted, not necesarrily a bad thing!
The neck is ok (straight at least), frets themselves are a little rough on the edges, they've been manually finished rather than machine finished I think.
Machine heads are great, pick ups are fairly cheap but not nasty, no 5 hour sustain like you get with the westfield/encore copy!!
It's just a little rough around the edges that's all, just a little more tlc from the manufacturer would sort that out. It's just the finishing on it more than anything, for example the bridge needs tightening down a little more, the finish between the pink laminate (maybe paint, but i doubt) on the edges little on the skew every now and then.
It plays really nice and can get some decent enough sounds out of it. It was played for about three hours last night, I only needed to re-tune once, about ten minutes in, which isn't bad for new strings. Still in tune this morning. Action isn't too bad.
So for the price, marvellous, as long as your not picky! Just don't expect a brand new fender stratocaster or a new gibson les paul!

i got a swift guitar as spike said "dont expect a gibson lespaul/ fender strat" but i at least expected it not to be cracked :/ each one theyve resent has been cracked and ive phoned up for another body n hopefully it wont be cracked
but its a good tone if you have a good amp (as i figured out when i brought a new amp¬¬) and they do look a little rough and laminated but its all good
