Where in god's green earth did this guitar come from (other than gods green earth)???

I've received sketchy info from my Luthier it might be German made, but he did tell me those are not the original tuning keys because of the original tuning key etch-mark on the back of the headstock, but we can't find any info on this guitar anywhere... But IMO it's a beauty.

First, welcome to GTU. I saw one similar to yours once, darker-toned but with a similar "Triumph" logo. (It's not an old Epiphone Triumph model.) The person who owned the guitar said he thought it was a late-fifties/early-sixties sold by an Italian company. (The person he got it from told him that.) Sorry for the sketchy third-hand info, but it's all I know!

how does it sound? It is all solid wood or laminiated like an ES335

Still no definative answer as to the origin

however I think its a solid piece top because the top grains trail into the the f-hole layer.... But it's tough to tell.

For it being so old, it's in great shape, usually solid wood archtops of this age dont stay in this good of condition, so I'm still wondering if it is a solid wood top. But it's very loud and has great sustain.

My luthier just called and told me there's a pickup in the guitar ........ It's hidden underneath the part of the fret-board that has no frets... and it works....

I noticed a receptacle hole in the heal of the neck, but I thought that was for neck adjustment

I'll be picking up the guitar later today
