So there is this place called Rondo music not too far that sells tons of asian knockoffs and ive been looking at this: http://www.rondomusic.net/hornet.html

I am wondering if anyone knows about Douglas guitars, or has had experience with them and whether that experience has been positive or negative. I am considering one of these babes because they look so nice and they are cheap, but like Agiles, are apparently really nice. I wanted a second opinion. I'm worried about the pickups, but id probably replace them anyways...

What do you guys think about the deal, and Douglas guitars in general?

depending on cost, even as a wall hanger it would still be great.

Id like to know what its made of....

Changeing the PUP's is probably a good Idea. And at that proce the hardware is likely to be very dodgy. I dunno man. As long as its solid and not made out of chipboard or something it will probably be ok.

I'd have to buy a nicer guitar. That looks really cheap.

I wouldn't trust a store that thinks "octive" is the proper spelling of the word.

it says its a "light weight basswood body"

it gave all these details:

# Modern V shapped styling
# Lightweight basswood body - Only 6.5 lbs!
# Diecast tuners with 12-1 ratio
# Humbucker pickups for reduced noise.
# 24 fret 2 octive maple set neck with rosewood fingerboard
# Two volumes and one tone with 3 way pickup selector swtich
# Chrome hardware and tune-o-matick bridge.
# Scale length is 25.5"
# String through body for improve sustain.

Dear lord that's alot of typos. Any serious company should check their spelling.

Also, new pickups don't instantly make a guitar great. I have a cheap Ibanez RG that I put some DiMarzio's in, and they make it sound a lot better than the stock ones. However, you can tell it's not a high-end guitar. The body wood just makes it sound a little dull, and lifeless.

i think basswood is generally considered a cheaper alternative yea, but its still found on most middle range geetars.

if you have the 130 and money isnt a big issue buy it...if it sucks it would make a hell of a nice hanger...or you could just sell it 2 some newb for 300 bucks
