Is there any software available that will take an mp3 file and transpose it into tabs ?

rickyd920 - none that I am aware of.
Life is like a musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Very popular and not as bad as some would have you believe. That is, unspeakably awful but mercifully brief.

@rickyd920: Almost all audio codecs mix the stream down to stereo, so there's no way to separate instruments/tracks. Therefore, even theoretically software that transcribes your song would not be able to separate the guitar from synth or guitar 1 from guitar 2 etc. noani.gif

There are ways using sophisticated filters to roughly narrow down tracks.
I've seen a couple of programs that turn mp3s into midi.
However the result is nowhere near good enough to be used for tabing purposes.

Theres a few programs that convert midi into sheet music. Sibileus(sp?) or something is what I've used. So if you can find a program that converts mp3 to midi (I didn't have much luck with that) and a program that converts sheet music to tab, with a few in between steps you'll be able to convert from mp3 to tab.
