Anyone have anything special they want this year? biggrin.gif

The only thing I would really like is a Line 6 JM4 Looper, however the price on it here is rediculous now that the dollar went down the toilet, it's about 150 bucks more at one of the stores here, gonna have to see if I can get it for less elsewhere locally, I figure it will be a useful tool for recording my music. I would not mind a microphone that can support recording vocals or instruments as well, either one will benefit me in some way.

If I'm really good this year, Santa will be bringing me a Gibson Les Paul Standard. I've waited for this guitar for 15 years now. If he brings me a bike, I'll be waiting for him at the fireplace. With a baseball bat mad.gif

I'd like a Roland JC-120. And an early 90's Les Paul.

That'll probably be Christmas 2015 before that happens.

Hoping to get a new mic as my very old one broke. Hopefully going to get to do some recording...

Already bought myself a Tone Tubby 12" Ceramic as an early present happy.gif

Oh yes I need a new set of tubes for my guitar amp, I think I have found an inner medium with my Pro Junior at last where I am getting the sounds I want, however playing it clean, it gets dirty real quick so I am gonna see if I can get some tubes in my stocking this year happy.gif

What brands should I look at?

I am sure if it`s a Harley you won`t be complaining tongue.gif

As for me, well i am pretty much equipped now. However i would like a digital Multi-track, and another electric drumkit, and the only guitar thats missing for me now is some sort of 335 semi hollow. I have my eye on a Hagstrom Viking at the moment. I will get none of these for xmas, as my wife has already bought me the Epiphone Goldtop. But next year i plan on getting at least the 335, and maybe the drumkit. biggrin.gif

What brands should I look at?

What's better apples or oranges?
What's better Ernie Ball strings or Dean Markley strings?
What's better Gibson or Fender?

Tubes are unique amazing little things. They are all different, even from tube to tube from the same manufacturer. You need to read some reviews and slowing try a bunch of brands out over time.

Some brands to try...
Tung Sol
EHX
Mullard (the re-issues)
JJ/Telsa

Those are kinda all the boring ol industry standard. Start there then try other brands and types...

I was looking at JJ/Tesla 12AT7 tubes here http://thetubestore....teslaecc81.html

I am not sure whether I am going to replace the power amp tubes or not, I think the pre amp is what causes so much gain so I might just go with that and see how the tone is first.

Id like to get my feet wet in the world of pedals and effects. Ive pretty much always gone right into my amp and let that color my tone but my DeVille has an effects loop, so I figured I might as well put it to work.

In fairness, you did kinda make it too easy for me. And if I didn't say anything someone else would have smile.gif

Ideally, a good capo and a couple packs of strings.

But I already got my Christmas present (an incredible one, at that), though hardly guitar related.

A Roland Synth unit, probably the GR20. That and an auto-wah.

I'm picking one up this month, I'll let you know how it sounds

I'd love to get a copy of Band in a Box... It would make practicing so much easier for me.

I have Band in a Box somewhere, it's alright for certain applications. If you are learning jazz, it can put out some good structural things in terms of chords and soloing.

Too bad I got my Boss GT-10 this October... which counted as the x-mas gift of this year.
So I guess I'll just get a nice bottle of champagne this time. biggrin.gif
