Breasts and all the rest.

there seems to be an objective reality that a determined individual can penetrate if he is willing to challenge the confining chimeras of markets and machines

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breasts and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather

They should be free to do what they want to.
Life is like a musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Very popular and not as bad as some would have you believe. That is, unspeakably awful but mercifully brief.

Absolutely

But in terms of relationship. I understand your implication. Trust me, I generally don't give a ###### about much and I would rather be perceived as an apathetic asshole within these forums rather than seem sadly vulnerable, but I was genuinely rubbed the wrong way today.

^ Do as you will with that statement, its all yours.

On a serious note, sometimes its just good to know that people think like you sometimes, even if its in cyberspace.

If they are our "best friends" its because they have the characteristics to be our "best friends" to begin with. Otherwise they would be just like "ordinary friends". Something I find very wrong about "best friends" is that they can turn into "worst enemies" quicker than say "ordinary friends".

I would think it would vary from person to person, you know. My best friend wouldn't be the same kind of person as your best friend.. But there are probably some universal characteristics.. loyalty, honesty, etc.

You can leave your wallet, your bag of pot, your coke or your girlfriend in the same room with him and leave and when you come back four hours later find any of them exactly the same way you left them. He's got your back in a fight, even if it's obvious you'll both be on the losing end of it when the dust clears.

That's it.

Not Bad dadfad, and...someone you can trust with your life...pretty much what dadfad is saying in his first bit, and someone you can talk to about anything and can trust that whatever you tell them will always be just between the two of you.

Anywho, I sat here trying to wrap my head around the "best friend" thing, and it's just not for me. The word friend itself has lost much of its meaning already.
