QUOTE (richey @ May 28 2009, 07:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Because I'm not a snob. A job is a job.

So doing a job you have a passion for and put in years of hard work at school for makes you a snob? I dunno, man, if i had a first class degree and was flipping burgers at McDick's, i wouldn't be so content.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

In his world, wearing shoes makes you a snob.

No. If that's the case, good for you. Really. But I don't look down on anyone for the job that they do. Nor would I deride them for "flipping burgers". It's hard work. I've put in the years of hard work at school. This is temporary, I'm just not thinking about my 'career' right now.

And of course I don't think wearing shoes makes you a snob. People think I'm a vain snob for wearing fairly expensive shoes. I can't win.

You are vain, but not a snob. You're an inverse snob.

Oh, to be as Marxist as this thread turned out to be. Seven out of ten scientists agree that they don't know what 'prove' used to mean.

Your reactionary comments are unreconstructed and counter-revolutionary Comrade.

Life is like a musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Very popular and not as bad as some would have you believe. That is, unspeakably awful but mercifully brief.
