The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

And so it came to pass, that on the 27th day of the 5th month, the owl abandoned his imaginary sidekick to seek out a new beginning in the land he had recently discovered to be known as Earth. No longer tied down by the trivial quips and egocentricities of the man-sprite, he would never again look to the far shores and pine for what could have been, had only he grown wings.
For the feathers that once were hid, 'neath macho grumblings and feeted balls, had burst forth into the atmosphere, exploding like radiant icicles about his body, illuminating the midnight sky.
And with this, the owl shed his mind-forged manacles, and glided across the night, toward the unknown stars beyond the edge of his known world.
Oh, to see the heavens, this would be a wonderfully splendid adventure.

magnesium on the bottom of your shoes
the hard but spectacular way:
get a couple of disks that can be concealed in the heel of your shoes. (you will have to cut open your shoes)
in one disk have a clock spring to where when the other disk spins via a central axle. in the second disk have flint lined around the it. also on it's sides need to have holes to let out the sparks. on the axle of the spinning disk attach a steel rod that will strike the flint.
with the disks together, cut open the heel of your shoes and cut out enough material to get the disks in there. i would superglue the clock spring disk to the bottom of the heel. also be sure to cut holes around your shoes so the sparks can come out. glue everything back together and there you go.

Seconded. It's about the safest thing really. Though, there might be issues if the floor is too smooth. I'd maybe put some skateboarding grip tape on the edges of your shoes, just to be sure it's going to spark off something.

You would have to include the wheel design too.
