I was driving down a road on the outskirts of town. The windows were all foggy and it was raining out. I saw a flash of beige and the outline of an animal on the left corner of my car and heard a big thud. Then it was gone. I pulled the car over and got out to look for the deer. I went over to the side it crossed to and spotted it. It cried in pain. There was something wrong with its leg. Then I ran to my car. There was a bit of its fur still on there, and I could smell the blood. I felt so horrible for hitting a deer. The shock still hasn't worn off yet.

What would you do about it?

I would call the SPCA so they could come and put it down.

if my car wasn't badly damaged i'd laugh my ass off. if it was a good sized buck i'd kill and take it to the butcher.

i think you're responsible for calling whatever sort of animal control you have in that area. an animal that size doesn't make for very safe roadkill, and also, if it's still alive and suffering it would be kinder to make that short.

everyone is bitches

well, here's what I've come to conclude.

1. when it happened, I stopped my car and went searching for it, which wasn't the smartest obviously.

2. left

3. came back, no sounds or anything from the deer. but from the previous encounter I would assume that it had already left.

4. Imme (Kevin, my father) called me, asked me where it happened, and I told him to go down and find it. He told me I was infuckinsane cos they can do a lot of damage.

5. I assume he left the place

6. Tomorrow I'm going to poke around in the wooded area and see if I can find it. I've come to the conclusion that it wouldn't do me any good to call the cops or whatever and have them look in there for it because it's most likely not there anymore.

SO:

since it has left the area, calling cops would be useless as would calling any other place. Do I run around the state looking for this deer? no.

in short, I guess there's nothing I can do. The leg will heal I'm sure, and it had to have at least one good leg to get out of the area, which means it's not totally helpless.

myself on the other hand, I was extremely lucky, and only my turn signal on the front left of my car has been broken, assumedly by a hoof.

A vegetarian who leaves an unwanted animal to suffer and slowly die?

I wonder what your motivation for declining meat is.

So for all and any medical condition you simply let nature take it course and refuse any treatment?

O GOd...not at all....hahaha.....but I doubt if anyones gonna go run after teh lil dear and capture him and bring him to a vet.....hence I implied that even if its injured...and no one can render assistance.....a young buck should be able to heal itself if the injury is not too severe..........PEAC EOUT
