Update: tried Ardbeg yesterday evening. Wish I hadn't, because I like it a lot. It's going to be pretty tough to pace myself with this bottle...

Also, gravity & skitso: Glenlivet is looked down upon by "connoisseurs"? Really? Bit surprised to read that, to be honest: I rather like it. Not quite as much as, say, the Ardberg, but I don't see a reason to stay away from it. Maybe I'm still too much of an amateur (or dilettante if you will) at whisky tasting.

Put it this way............... In they Bar I used to work in we stocked approximately 120 different single malts. If i had to rank them by preference we would be getting very close to 100 before glenlivet would make its appearance. Its not that its a bad malt. Its just there is so much better out there. Maybe I'm just a whisky snob.

For Gods Sake, stay away from Canadian whiskey.

Also, I've never gone wrong with Glenfiddich.

We don't make whiskey all that well, but we sure make damn good maple syrup, we will leave the whiskey to you Americans tongue.gif

Nope. It was a normal bar. We just had a good selection. And i had to know/taste them all. Great job.
