I've recently been fiddling with assigning all my Function Keys, God know why I didn't do this earlier. Anyway, I've got all these neat little shortcuts now but I really want to be able to Lock my computer with a Function key. Problem: I have no idea where those commands are stored. Any help?

Nevermind, I found it.

In case you guys were curious, here are all the commands:

Shutdown your Computer

Shutdown.exe -s -t 00

- Force all applications to close and shutdown immediately

or

Shutdown.exe -s (After 30s...)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Restart Computer

Shutdown.exe -r -t 00

---------------------------------------------------------------

Sleep Computer

Rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep

If it hibernates instead of Sleep: Hibernate must be OFF

---------------------------------------------------------------

Lock your Computer

Rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hibernate Computer

Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

doesn’t work?: Hibernate must be enabled

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555569

How to turn off / On the Hibernate feature: powercfg

powercfg -hibernate off

powercfg -hibernate on
---------------------------------

New > Create Shortcut > *insert destination from above* . > right click "assign hot key" > put in folder > hide > BOOM

I don't understand.

I just hold the windows key (one with the logo on it) and press L in Win. 7. I think Win XP was similar.

Would be nice to have a shortcut like that to shutdown that way but I don't think 7 has one.
