This may have been suggested before but here goes. As this is a guitar forum and I'd assume a lot of the members are also in bands how about somewhere within to advertise gigs etc? Just a thought.

I dunno, in this age of facebook and social media sites I can't imagine an area for advertising ones own gigs being used much here. You could always update your signature or make a thread about it in discussion*. There is also the status update thing on the forum home page you can use. That's my two cents at least.

*That's a guess, ask major what he thinks about that because discussion is his area not mine.

I just don't see the benefit really. We're all too far spaced geographically to attend each others gigs. And we don't get much outside traffic flowing through here.

This... nobody's going to travel more than a mile or 2 to see a GTUer gig, unless it's someone they already talk to, in which case they'll already know about it.

Fair enough, was just an idea although I reckon I'd go and see a fellow GTUers band if it wasn't too far away.

Why isn't it?

I suppose there could be notices put up like there is for various things now on the site too. Like a calendar listing.

Crumbs is perfectly right about the bands forum: with option 4 you can indeed advertise your gigs. Also let me remind you that option 3 is for online collabs.
