Had this guitar for a few years now although I really like it, its credentials just dont stack up. Gerry McGee from my understanding was only involved with signing Strats? Also the pick guard looks like its from a thinline rather than having the obvious down forwarding slope above the strings...

Natural to white colouring doesnt look familiar either. Anyway what do you guys think? Is it a spare parts guitar with stickers or is it more unusal?

Also pickups are Fender - Lace Sensor.

Cheers for any help :)

I have one. Its real, very real and yours is all original. It's rare as hens teeth. Ash body texas special and 2 lace sensors...made in 2002 Jap custom shop, only a few exist like Ritchie Kotzen models but rarer. I paid..a lot... and its the nicest tele I will ever have. Its a better tone than the James Burton too. Dont ever sell it. You will never see another. I searched hard and yours is the only other I've come across in 10 years. Feel free to email me u2head@sky.com

Must be rare have only just seen a second picture of one today on ebay. Shame there is no write up anywhere about its history. You're right the sound is amazing... nearly sold it to help out my situation with a girl. Lucky escape! Paid around $1250 USD for it
