I would have said maybe closer to 15 mil total for the three of them, but that's the perk of bulk-buying, I guess =p

To be honest, I got fed up of the incessant Man U/ Liverpool whingefest that last season's thread became..I'm hoping for better things this time round..

Agreed. Brown and O'Shea are really good signings for a mid-table club. Good players, very experienced, and O'Shea's the most versatile player out there (he has played in literally every position for United during his career. They're both around 30 so we weren't gonna get much for them.

So for those three we get 3/4 of the fee for Jones, which isn't a bad deal at all. Once Gibson's officially gone, I will be deliriously happy. No United player has ever angered me as much as him.

£12m for the three of them does sound like a bit of a bargain to be fair. Prices are astronomical these days: they've just got £20m for a young player, to reinvest that in players of the experience and quality of Brown and O'Shea and still have £8m change is a shrewd move.

Brown and O'Shea are going to be increasingly side lined now. We have younger players coming through with more energy and pace, so they will be relegated to bit part roles, and they're both better than that. They'll be good players for mid table teams for certain, bringing in a huge amount of experience. They've been fantastic for us, so if they are on their way out I hope they do well.

And for Gibson? Ha. Excellent.
