I have a cheap acoustic guitar (Valencia CG-160 - http://www.ddmusic.co.nz/products/24 ) and the sound is not very good as expected.
However i'm willing to put the time and effort to restore it and make it sound better, i've been researching online and i got some parts like:
- Acoustic Guitar Bone Nut and Solt Saddle
- New machine heads
- New strings
- Guitar Lacquer
Even though most of the ppl wouldn't approve this, i enjoy doing this kind of stuff and would appreciate for good constructive criticism if you have experience on the subject
At the moment i start sanding the guitar and removing all of that gross lacquer that came with it, that looks like wrapped in thick plastic bags.
My idea is that , the lacquer was killing the sound as there is not much vibration on the guitar, so im trying to improve it.
After this i will give lots of coats to the guitar with thin lacquer.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me trying to get the maximum of this guitar? Products/techniques etc.
Thank you !
