Rob, just wondering is there any way you could possibly get Guitarzone to be "Tapatalk" enabled?

For those that don't know, Tapatalk is a cool app available for iPhone, Blackberry and Android that allows you to view certain forums with it. I know there are various other similar apps for viewing forums, but Tapatalk is head and shoulders above anything I've seen yet. Most of these apps only allow for basic viewing, but Tapatalk keeps quite a lot of the forums other stuff like formatting, viewing images etc. it costs something like €2.50 but it's money well spent. A lot of forums use it now.

Anyway, just a thought. Maybe you could even look into it and see if there's much involved?

I have not looked into it very much. I believe it IS compatible with this software and that some GZusers would benefit from it. Are there any other visitors that care to vouch for this or at least say they're interested?

I don't have the app on my phone, and one bad thing I know from personal experience is that when I go to a Tapatalk enabled forum on my phone it pops up with an annoying message that says the forum is Tapatalk enabled. If they have a more subtle way of announcing that to non-Tapatalk users, I'd be onboard for this...

I thought some would have posted here before now, supporting the idea. I know at least one other regular on GTU supports the idea. And I would think that a lot of people with smart phones would support it too, if they gave it a chance.

Even though they may not have used it, I can say with 100% certainty that it's a much better option than using the standard mobile browser. The mobile browser on GTU very buggy too.

But I agree with your negative point. I use Tapatalk on a football forum, and it does pop up that the forum is Tapatalk enabled. However, this only happens once in a single browsing session, and I doubt many people use the mobile browser anyway.

Would enabling GTU to be Tapatalk compatible put any expense on yourself, Rob?

Most people just aren't "smartphone literate". But they'll come round eventually. Enabling Tapatalk will be a good investment

I haven't heard of Tapatalk, but it sounds interesting - if GTU was smartphone-friendly that would definitely be a bonus.

To be honest, my smartphone runs the full version just fine. With the rate of technological advancement and how often the average person probably goes before upgrading their phone, I reckon this tapatalk will be obsolete soon enough

It runs fine on the iPhone too. But Tapatalk runs so much better. I don't see the harm in it.
