I am about to submit my resume to Environment Canada for what I think could easily be my dream job. It is a hydrometric technician position, involving traveling to remote areas, traveling by boat, surveying, environmental monitoring, and maintaining stream gauges. And what is the next best part? They are looking to fill a position out of my home town up north.

What is your dream job? Does anyone here already have their dream job?

A man goes to the doctor. Says he's depressed. He says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. The doctor says "The treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him, that should pick you up." The man bursts into tears. He says "But doctor... I am Pagliacci."

I like that, and considered a second degree in botany if it were realistic to keep going to school.

You may find this interesting, Botany Everyday, it is a free online botany class starting in two weeks. It has a major focus on herbalist properties, and less on taxonomy and physical descriptions, for example his description of mustards failed to mention the 4 petals and six stamens that is key in identification, but goes on about the medicinal properties and uses. Still, it seems pretty interesting, I will be taking the classes.

Also, this is a very cool blog from New Zealand, Phytography, that explains a new latin phyto- word everyday with pictures of plants from NZ.

I have never been to Halifax, but I would imagine that there would be a vast difference in plants from one side of Canada to the next, aside from the invasive and exotic weeds.

(you just picked up on one of my major interests  )
