so basically what kind of mac (which i'll need to do this music course i fancy - which is two thirds of a ba - which i'll need to get a pgcse to become a school teacher - who said i wasted my time playing online games and doing the "grind") considering all i need to run is logic pro9 and i have no idea which macs are most powerfull or what processors etc to look out for?

I tried checking Apple's page for system recuirements and they only listed RAM and HDD space. They seem to be stupid.
Anyway, a DAW can either use very little performance or huge amounts. So you might be happy with a simple Macbook or even mac mini or you might need an Mac Pro to run it. It all depends of what you will do with it. One thing you'll need what ever you do is a proper soundcard because the integrated stuff is never enough for recording. If you already have an external car (USB or Firewire) you'll be fine. So, what will you use it for?
Edit: There's always the whole hackingtosh option. If you have a nice new PC, you could just dual boot with OSX. Or rather, often you can do it but it depends on the hardware.

spongy - ive just bought a brand new pc
edit: as i said all i have to do is be able to run logicpro9 on it (which i'll then be able to teach..... so er yeah them macs well good etc etc bullshit bullshit bullshit etc give me your money coz ive got a silly haircut and skinny jeans)
edit2: having just said all that logic looks pretty good value for money at £125 (educational discount)
edit3: ahh i see what i may be doing there. im discriminating against the trendy people on a subconcious level coz they discriminate against me with "slim fit" clothing

Check it out. You might just need to install OSX on your new PC.
£125 is not bad for a DAW. But still a lot more than Reaper.
