Hi guys,

I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on who to use for building a band website? I've heard good things about Bandcamp and Bandzoogle. I've also heard a few things about Bandvista and Telnames (I don't think Telnames is actually designed for band sites but they supposedly do the job). Anyone used any of these? Recommendations?

Here's the ones mentioned:
www.bandcamp.com
www.bandzoogle.com
http://www.bandvista.com
http://www.telnames.com

I only use bandcamp ( http://justmyself.bandcamp.com ). It's free, easy to set up, customizable, and you can add twitter and facebook gadgets. and if you know a thing or two about web development you can design your own pages and upload them yourself. (i don't and didn't)

i have not heard about the other web sites.

the only problem I have with bandcamp is that it takes a long time to upload songs and photos.

but, if you have the time and if all the sites are free then why not use them all?

You save a bit of time with Bandcamp if you upload FLAC files instead of WAV files. I think FLAC files are on average about 60% of the size of WAVs.

It does. They're just bigger than FLACs.

yeah wmas are well smaller than flacs. flacs are lossless and wmas are about 64kbps (shit - so the codex must actually be excellent really)

also look at jamendo.comor.orgorwhateverthefuckjustgoogleitok?.com
