Like the snows of yesteryear, gone from this earth. A brief moment of silence.
...
Right. A showing of Young Frankenstein will begin at midnight, Mountain Time. Be there or be square...or y'know, just do whatever.
That is all.

We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams

First time I ever saw a movie audience applaud a film was see no evil hear no evil (or whatever it's called, you know the one I mean). Now they're both gone... Must have caught mens rear
That is such a terrible film. Truly terrible. But terrible enough it goes full swing round to being good.
I'm not built for all this public grief - I'm far too nonchalant. I was sad (but more surprised) at Bowie, and old Wogan was a bit sad but more because of my connection to the UK and being in America - but I get really turned off by public (social media) remembrance, especially when it stars trending. Ugh.

Why? Because you like to be the only one like you're special?
I also dislike public grief. But this gets political so I'm going to back off of it.

No - it's just I'm not that moved by famous people dying. Surprised, but not moved. The emotions that get thrown around tend to be much more self-serving - a mourning for the part of an individual's life that have now passed - so a lot of people are sad because Gene Wilder played Willy Wonka, a cherished childhood memory and it reminds them of their own mortality. Not of the person who has passed. I'm tired of the '2016...how many more?' sentiments - it's only going to increase as the level of celebrity has, and it's reaching of old age and our obsession with the self and documenting every thought, sentient or otherwise.
It's not a personal attack, nor is it in anyway invalidating (or attempting to invalidate) your grief or right to grieve.

No - I like Crab Man and I don't want him to think a) I don't and I don't want to offend out of respect for someone's feelings. I can cry, share and care. Basically I'm a 90's man.

I'm disgustingly indifferent to all of them. I'll save all the outpouring of grief for when someone I really liked dies, like Brian Wilson or Berry Gordy or Mr Spoon.
