Some of you may remember me, it's been a really long time since I've been here. Woggie and I were friends for about 15 years until he passed away almost 3 years ago. I am still looking for answers to questions I may never know. I just want to everyone here that knew him to know, that it was great to see support coming in from around the world. I just wish there was a way for him to know how much he meant to everybody.

Hi dude. I remember you well. I hope things are well. Thanks for coming back and letting us remember Woggie with you. It is what we have left as well.

Was pretty gutted when I came across the news here. He was a funny, tell it like it is kind of guy, and for that, my go to guy for song critiques on msn messenger when I was younger. I could never claim to have been close, but I liked his style and appreciated his input. I hope you find some of your answers, having lost someone to the same outcome, you may have to accept that you'll never truly know. He sure seems to have left quite an impression on probably everyone here, so it's best to focus on the finer moments and memories he left.

Welcome back mate. I can't say I remember you posting much but your username definitely rings a bell.

Sorry you had to lose a friend at such a young age. I know from experience that's not easy. It's hard to believe it been almost 3 years now since Ryan's passing. Obviously I never knew him in real life but he was one of those internet characters you see from time to time that you honestly felt you personally knew all your life. It was a huge shock to us all when we heard.

I hope you find the answers to whatever questions you have. It would be nice if you could stick around here too. GTU isn't as busy as it used to be but we've had a few old school members make a return lately so your presence would be much appreciated.

Hey. I remember you, although I don't think we spoke more than once or twice. I was probably 15 and sulking at a computer in a small Australian town. For the juxtaposition: currently finishing a small cry for an old friend over my iPhone in a sandwich shop outside the Tower of London.

Ryan meant a lot to me and I think about him frequently, as I did when he was alive. He always encouraged me to write, although not to study. I dedicated my PhD thesis to him when I started it in 2010 but I didn't submit it until 2014. Dedication stayed the same. We didn't communicate much after 2011 but I always intended to send him the damn thing so he knew what he'd done for me.

I managed a mental health/suicide prevention campaign for young men in remote areas of New South Wales in 2014. It was a good (in some ways brutal) thing to do. I like to think I've found some peace with his death, and sometimes I'm sure I have. This is the first time I've posted on GTU about it.

It is good to know that the sadness felt by GTUers was received. Thanks for letting us know.

The miserable bastard was a remarkably powerful force for good when he wanted to be, wasn't he? Inspired people to write, paint, make music, or otherwise pursue dreams or passions of some sort that they might not have done. Fuck knows he helped keep the brush in my hand in a big bad way. Dude stirred the soul in between vulgarities.

Woggie continues to have a kind of impact on my day to day life.

The silly bastard is on my wall. I made a promise to paint him and I have started, but it still needs a lot of work. I promised to only paint him when I was drunk. But I haven't been drinking enough recently.

If you ever finish it, seriously, send me a copy please. My email address is ryanhettenhausen@gmail.com. I know a few people that could fully appreciate a drunken painting of him.

Wow it's been three years. He was a cool guy. Our first few exchanges were insults : ) We got along sweet after that. Looking forward to seeing the picture Em!
