Les Paul's seem to have gone up a lot in price. In the UK.

I read an article about the boss at Gibson. Apparently he's a complete tyrant and treats the employees like dirt; concurrent reviews of their products has noted a decrease in quality. If the price has gone up it's likely because they aren't selling like they used to when they were built by people who enjoyed their work.

I hate the knobs. I thought they were flint stones. I changed mine for normal black ones. It's a good guitar, but i'm not keen on the Burstbucker 3 humbucker. I'm gonna change it for a Dimarzio or a BK.

The BFG is quite heavy. I've just had my 69 goldtop out, that is very heavy. I have a black studio which is the lightest gibson i've owned. I had another Black studio before which was heavier. I'm not in a band any more, so i'm normally sitting down when i play.
I've never played a Gretsch. I always think they look very cool.

Yeah, I typically stand when I play at all times. The Gretsch looks cool, despite not *actually* being a hollow body. There is a way more expensive model which looks the same, but has the f holes in a hollow body. It plays well, really light, fast neck, but the bridge is a nonsense collection of detachable metal and screwy bits that raise and lower everything. I didn't know that when I restrung the thing and everything came apart and I'm not entirely sure I put it back together correctly. Either way, it does play.
