Alright, I know this topic is something I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I'd like to know what I can do with the build I have...please I need to know what kind of pedals I need for my build...I'm open to any other ideas.

When they play clean, they tend to use a bit of chorus and reverb.

If you're just using an amp:
Bass @ 8
Mid @ 1
Treble @ 8/9
Gain @ 7/8
Bridge pickup.
Pedals instead? You just need a good metal distortion pedal (Boss ML2 will do it), a wah pedal and then like Dave said some chorus & reverb. I'd recommend starting with a cheaper mutli-fx pedal to begin with to learn what fx you really need to get the tone you want and then investigating/investing further from there.
I play a lot of early Metallica with the band I'm in and I use a Boss ME-80 to shape the tone.
