they are both great guitarists....I think s.r.v's style outshines claptons though. He uses simple pentatonic shapes to do his solos, but he just puts so much feel into his playing some of it sounds amazing. Texas Flood, Pride and Joy, and his Hendrix cover of little wing all include some of my favorite solos.

clapton. he mite be slower but his songs have better melody.

i hate both of them, but clapton is better in my eyes just because of the main riff to layla, thats killer.
