I bought a bunch of boring war games for my computer last summer. So I'm going to play boring war games all day.

Have you ever tried to translate something from Spanish into English on Google Translate? Computers really aren't that great at understanding language.

Isn't the oxidation of iron into rust just a very very slow explosion?

I don't particularly care for the idea of parallel universes, even though my agnostic tendency forces me to accept the possibility. My argument isn't against the fantastic notion that universes exist where an individual such as myself could have done better for himself, or worse, and become a benevolent leader worthy of worship, or a cruel dictator. I'd like to think that all possibilities are open to everyone in this universe, within reason. We are responsible for our own failings, and we are responsible for our own achievements, except in cases where our environments and experiences have put us into a position where progress in one direction or the other is impossible. Look at what Helen Keller was able to accomplish despite her disabilities. While surely there may be a universe out there where Helen Keller was a vegetable her entire life, why should we waste time imagining a Utopia that probably doesn't exist when virtually all things are possible in this world, assuming you're not born in some ass backwards part of the world like Darfur and never reach adulthood?

I like the part where the producer wisely died before production started

fried bell/sweet banana are good on sandwiches. i don't know if fried hot peppers would be good on a sandwich. I tried them in spaghetti once. That was pretty stupid.

next time fry the peppers in olive oil or butter.

I've literally just started reading a new book, and I'm having a weird problem. It's taken me about ten attempts to get past the first couple of lines, they've weirdly transfixed me:

"I never knew her in life. She exists for me through others, in evidence of the ways her death drove them."

All it's saying really is that this crazy lady drove people nuts when she got offed. Kind of like that drunk addicted British singer chick with the teeth.

Posted by doosh baggins on 12 February 2014 - 10:33 AM

Evolution has a huge role in the social sciences. Even courses in political science are designed around the theory of evolution. You can't just throw it out the window because the theory as far as origins of species itself doesn't agree with theology, or because you don't believe it is important. Teachers expand on the theory to enrich their curriculum.

And that doesn't even include the murdering you would be doing to biology, zoology, botany, anthropology, and half of medicine.
