Need some inspiration

22 March 2006 - 06:44 PM

This question is probably a bit redundant and diffucult to answer. Anyway, I am at a point where I am a decent player (8yrs playing), which is difficult to define but I can sit in with most people and jam. Not with like oscar peterson or Miles Davis or something, but your average rock band. I practice everyday and I feel like i have hit a plateau and nothing seems to be changing. I want more speed and I have practiced all the Need For Speed exercises over and over. Has anyone had this probelem and found a good solution? I was looking at the Rock discipline video. Is it very helpful?

Hand and forearm exercise

19 March 2006 - 08:31 PM

I injured my wrist awile ago and I get a sharp pain in my wrist after playing for only a short time now. I just started one of those grippers (I do not know the actual name but it is a device that you squeeze in your hand tro build wrist strength.) I was wondering if anyone has had any success with it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Did anyone enter this guitarmaggedon contest at guitar center? I stubbled in on it when I was picking up my amp at the store. There is a car and a guitar up for grabs...not sure what kind though.

Annoying hiss/buzz on amp

15 March 2006 - 11:17 PM

I just bought a used fender vibrolux amp. I have never played a new one before, and I got a great deal on this. I was told that even a new one has this hiss. Despite changing any settings the noise persists. It even sounds the same when the cable is not connected to the input jack. Does anyone know if this is normal? It would not really be a problem unless I was micced up...between every song I would have to turn of the mic or something to avoid hearing the hiss through the PA.
