"Time of Your Life" is a great song, continually played around the world, and it features the bands more acoustic style playing.THe song also features a violin solo adding great drama. It is one of the bands greatest hits. Billie Joe wrote this beautiful song after breaking up with one of his ex-girlfriends and named it "Time of Your Life". However, as their relationship got worse he renamed the song "Good Riddance"."Hitchin' A Ride" with a violin intro, has a very catchy baseline with the guitar joining in also. One of the best riffs written by Green Day. The Grouch, originally named Happy Grouch, is a great song and the band captures the melody perfectly with their guitar, bass and drum. The band lets the punk sound carry on on "Nice Guys Finish Last". On this album Green Day also features more songs that fade into each other (Jinx-Haushinka) as they do on other albums."Platypus" also known as "I Hate You" is a raging song, fast and upbeat, and once again a very catchy song, while "Worry Rock" is a softer yet still rocking song. Green Day are able to capture both sides of themselves on this album. On the inside of the booklet of the CD scratched out lyrics are left which gives it a good raw feel like this paper is actually the one the band wrote the songs on. Another quick fact about the booklet: Mike took the picture of himself on the booklet. This is a great album that features softer and rocker sides of Green Day. Great use of other instrument, the horn and the violin, on these songs. Each of the band members are at their best and made an excellent album. 9.5/10.
