Boston Beatdown Volume II: See The World Through Our Eyes Brutal. This DVD hides nothing. A documentary about the Boston undergound music scene, from the same people who brought you Volume I. Who also happen to be the same people who lived and experienced much of this documentary. WARNING: Boston Beatdown Volume II contains a lot of violence. This is a realistic look into the world of the underground hardcore/punk/metal scene of one of the most violent cities in the country. There is a lot of footage from shows. There are fights. There is blood and broken bones. There is even a home surgery, done a couch in someone's living room, to repair a knife wound to someone's chest. This is raw, and this is real. This is every day life for hardcore kids in Boston. The DVD provides a background of the notorious FSU Crew, who formed in the 80's to help rid the Boston underground scene of racist nazi skinheads who, at the time, pretty much owned the Boston music scene. It contains interviews with members of FSU, as well as members of legendary underground bands such as Blood for Blood, Death Before Dishonor, Righteous Jams, and Wrecking Crew. Also contained are several live performances by Blood For Blood, Wreck Crew, Death Before Dishonor, Ten Yard Fight, Righteous Jams, and 454 Big Block. Special features also lets you see several more live performances by these bands. Like I said before, this documentary contains a lot of violence and fights. At one point, even singer Moby is involved (yes, you read right). This is not for the light of heart, this is real life filmed and brought to you by the people who live it. For fans of hardcore, punk, or metal, this DVD is recommended. This is where it all began.
HOWEVER. After viewing this, please do not become infected with this "tough guy" disease that seems to be sweeping every mindless person who watches it and thinks it is a DVD about nothing but fights. This documentary is not just about fighting. It's about life, and the hardships these people have been through every day of their lives. It's about the daily struggles and sacrifices you make every day. If you come away from watching this DVD thinking that it was nothing more than a bunch of fighting, you missed the entire point garagerocker04
