Three Words - Song written for the love of my life. Short, sweet, simple. It has a major 9th in it! ohmy.gif

Last Train - Lyrics written by rabid_fox for msuic I had already composed. Fingerpicking good. Just a rough recording of it so far. I plan on redoing the guitar part (as I f˙cked up in a couple of parts), adding another guitar part and some vocal harmonies in the future. In fact, at some point I'll probably rerecord the whole thing as I'm not too keen on some of the vocal parts anyway...

Listen, enjoy, comment if you want even! Link in sig

Three words : Nice, really nice tune. I can't make out a lot of the words though because the guitar is covering up the vocals sometimes. I remember when you posted the lyrics to this you said it was only mean't to be short, but I still think it should be longer, the way you finish it doesn't really resolve the song but thats just my opinion, feel free to disregard.

Last Train : some of the vocals are a bit wavering at the start, and at times it could really use some variety in the guitar, but you said you're adding more guitar parts and redoing the vox so that should should be good. As it is now though, the picking pattern is nice, but too constant IMO. If you could evolve it or maybe strum some parts it woud be more interesting.

Thanks biggrin.gif
I think at some point I will re-record Three Words, the levels are wrong. I was having difficulties in finding a good way to end it. I really don't want to write any more on it, it's a short sentimental poem/song for my love, and I'm happy at that length. It's more of a personal thing that I am sharing than something that I really want people to look at too closely.

As for Last Train, I can see where you're coming from. Hopefully by adding another guitar part and some harmonies I can take away from the repetitiveness. That's always been my worry about that one, but it's never sounded quite right with parts being strummed. A combination of a dirty strummed part after the first chorus and vocal harmonies on the second chorus on should help... hopefully.

Cheers for listenning biggrin.gif

mad.gif Bring back the hat!

Last train
For a near 5 minute song it's too... stale, I think. The strict repeated pattern underpinning the vocals could benefit from a change in dynamics or some nice fills like you did on another song as I recall. I look forward to the vocal harmonies you're adding, it should help in the doubling the 'power' of the vocals without plainly singing louder - which is something this song doesn't need, me thinks.

Three words
"Make me dinner" ? HAHAHA...ahem. unsure.gif

I think it's sweet! Especially the way it ends with the doubled up vocals. It kinds of drives the point home. I detect also the nice guitar fills I would like to see in Last train coming halfway through the song.

cool.gif Cool and word, or something.

I'm not trying to be funny, but are you sure it's my soundclick you're listening to? My voice is weak and lacking any strength or power. Very unsexy.

iv just listened to three words ill check out last train later coz im as a bit busy

i think as you pointed out the sound levels are a bit off but its nice
the guitar sounds chilled yet almost funky imo
i think it could have more instromental bits in it too make it a bit longer coz i dont think it needs any extra lyrics but i like it

I'm going to re-record it at some point so I can get the levels better mixed. I also made a couple of mistakes on the guitar part that annoy me (I'm a perfectionist tongue.gif). The general response to Three Words has been favorable though, so I'm happy biggrin.gif

Three Words:
I like the song, but as stated before I think the guitar is too loud in relation to the vocals. Also, maybe recorded a bit loud, cos when you make the percussive noise on the guitar it's a bit distorted. But a great song.

Last Train:
Pretty, but too long. The vocals aren't as good as on Three Words, imo I think you need to put a bit more force into the singing. As others have said it'd benefit from some variation, but I reckon it has potential.
