Here's how it'll work.

There's so many sets of lyrics here. So, pick one and record a song using those lyrics. Much like I did all those months ago with Imadique's "Fears Unfounded". Once recorded, stick your version of the song up on your Soundclick and post it in here, for the amusement of the rest of the forum and, in particular, the writer of the lyrics.

If anyone objects to their lyrics being used in this Rat Race, do say. You'll make yourself look like a total twat but at least you'll not have the enjoyment of seeing someone's interpretation of your song, right?

We're supposed to be songwriters here. Lets get busy.

I like this idea. I am more than willing to see how other people would treat my mediocre ramblings.

This could intrigue and horrify in equal measures. I shall look on with interest.

To kick things off, I've recorded Tara's Song by J-Gunner.

The mic I'm using is crapulent - it's part of a 'net chat headset, as BAM's using my usual recording mic for more important things.

Tara's Song, Rabid Style

Lets get this show on the road, then.

About as long as it took my fingers to type and my mind to bring up an R-related synonym for competition.

So, about as long as it took my fingers to type.

I have surprisingly fast fingers.

I hope people don't get the worong idea about your quote-end quote "unquote".

Rabid, there must be a reason that every photo of a fox that you put in your sig has been facing to the right. I would like to be brought up to speed on the quote unquote "Foxes Facing Fight".

The head is caught between full profile and the more classical side-on profile, as if to suggest a tension between the present and the past; or alternatively timelessness or immortality. The eyes are downcast, in an antihero profile.

The answer will come through the R-5. Which I bloody well started. We're supposed to provide feedbacks and comments on what we thought of the song when it was read and when it was listened to, not talk about my signature.

Actually, it is a very good idea. I won't have time this weekend, however Monday I will find myself with some time.

Right now I'm off to watch Cops. I always feel so much better about myself after a couple episodes of Cops.

My new recording of Imadique's song "Ballad of a Loser" can be found at http://www.soundclic...hgreenmusic.htm. Here is Imadique's original posting of the lyrics, including a link to his original recording.

I'm not fantastically satisfied with the result, especially in the lo-fi mix, but here it is.

Good work there, Spork. The vocals are kind of like a drunk Nick Cave (singing double? Ho Ho). The music was...well, a little predictable given the song, you sort of always knew where it was going. Ach well. Where the hell are Imadique and J-Gunner? They're the ones supposed to provide the good feedback.

Thanks, you two. Mind, I used the same music as Imadique, since he helpfully wrote down how to play the thing. I like it, despite the simplicity. I'm probably gonna do another one or two of these.
