I found a cool little drum program last year. Download Drums! 2.0 (demo)
if you want to check it out.

I used that demo version to make the drum track for the song Hail The Spoon in my soundclick.

Actually it's the first drum track I ever made with it on the first song I ever recorded with a computer.

I downloaded Battery a long time ago but I still can't figure out how it works.

And I also have Magix music studio deluxe 2004. It's 2 programs, audio studio and MIDI studio. I use the audio studio program for mixing and recording tracks, but I still have no idea how to use MIDI studio. It supposedly has a drum machine but I have no clue how to use it. I'm new to this MIDI crap. Any tips would be appreciated.

But since Drums! 2.0 sounds good and using it is pretty simple I haven't really been messing with those other ones.

do you want a hardware drum machine or software?

the Korg ES-1 MK II is pretty slick. 100 bucks more will get you an ESX-1 sampler. E-mu SP-1200 drum machines are cool too (if you can find them)

Awhile back I gathered EVERY Drum related .WAV I could find. Their all real Hi Quality, and really keen.
Most are in Mono, excellent for stereo remixing using Mr Dolbies 5.1 encoder found in the remixing section of Adobe Audition v 1.5...which I adore BTW.
I was trying to sell the .Wavs, but, hey you guys need them, want them, here they are.
Heres a sample song I did using Cut and Paste Technology and Adobe Audition.

yeah, its me.

I think the problem is people want percussion to sound 'real' and end up losing focus of what's important, wether it sounds good or not. Not that I'm an expert or anything, I just want to point out that:

you shouldn't be afraid to blend electronic kicks (like a sine wave without harmonic overtones) with acoustic snares, whatever works, works. Don't go crazy on wanting THAT one sound you heard on some record by someone, some time, somewhere.

Dip trip, flip Fantasia.
