Not sure what it's name would be, but it's an A of sorts.

Ha... Let's try that again. Aminadd9/E. That's my best guess. Now let's wait for someone that actually knows what they're talking about.

I believe it's an A add9 minor.

So, you have EEACBE? ACE would be A minor, the B could be called the 9th... Am add9/E? Yep, same as Derek.

I depends on the context of the chord progression it's used in, it could be a type of E chord, A chord, g chord a B or a C. Basic rule of thumb, if it souns good, go with it.

E A D G B E. I don't know if anybody else has noticed this but those are the notes of the guitar tuned to standard tuning.
It is not really an A chord. There is no C or C# for the minor or major third.
It is definitely a G 6/9 chord- G B D E A
And you could say that it is also an E minor 11, though it does not contain an F# or 9th.

Wouldn't the answers depend on what you're calling the root note? Sorry, I'm theory-challenged.

Yeah it would I was going to list all four chords but I just didn't feel like taking the time.

Here you go

A Major add 9th
E Sus4 b6
The chord rooted from a B would have the formula 1 - 4 - b7 - b9 I guess you could call this B sus4 b7 b9
The chord rooted from a C would have the formula 1 - 3 - 6 - 7 I guess you could call this C Maj 7 (add 13)(no 5)

A Maj add 9th the most common name

Wouldn't that be E E A C B E? So there is a C to make a minor third, and there's no D.

Hm... Just realized what you may've been thinking. That top line wasn't him saying the notes, that was him showing the strings for the tab.
