OK, I know that this is very cheeky and pretty much against forum etiquette, but fúck it. I'm owed some leniency, bítches tongue.gif

I've promised time and again that I would listen to people's Soundclick recordings when I got a chance. I now have that chance. However, I don't know who I've said I would listen to, and I can't be bothered to go through hundreds of threads to try to find out.

So, people of Songwriting, help me out! Tell me who I should check out, especially if you can remember me saying I would like to listen to you.

I am liking chasing tail lights, but it could be recorded better. The recording doesn't do the song justice. A metronome and free reign to let rip with the vocals a bit and he'd sound better. And he should let rip, he really has a very good voice.

Well, yes. A common problem that I've been noticing with people's singing (including yours, so listen up!) is that they are lacking some confidence in their voice. With confidence, comes control. You have a great voice, but you lack the confidence to make yourself sing.

Meh. Sorry for the rant.

My voice isn't as good as spnj's, and by no means can you call my voice great!

I can say what I want. I am badass like that. Seriously though, some of you guys could be good, if only you had confidence in your singing.

While not entirely appropriate for a songwriting forum (the music being, as it is, instrumental) take a listen of my boredom-bourne solo stuff: www.myspace.com/devioust

Whew! Thanks Will, I'm glad I'm not the only one...

Yes, spnj's stuff is great. You should have a listen to ALL of his songs, they're all equally awesome. And listen to the cash also. He's a really great guitarist, and he's got such an interesting and cool sounding voice. It amazes me that such a great musician would actually put me mediocre lyrics to music...("Flashback" for the old R5 to the Max!)

Oh, and not that I'm even close to the talent of spnj, but I now have a soundclick too! I used audacity software and a crappy $12 mic, and so far I only have one song up, an acoustic cover of the Foo Fighters' song, "Times Like These," but have a listen if you would, I have always found your advice very useful. Oh, and I have already made a "learn to sing" note-to-self, so we can skip that part. smile.gif

I'd recommend paul ward too, i've got most of the spnj's on my HD badledragon (spell)
is worth listening too (track suit ambassador) michael stipe and co have recorded very
nice pop songs, brad (sustain anthem) has recorded beautiful songs too and in studio ...

And hum there are so many you know the best way is to go to the recording (and live performances) forum, there is a pin post with lots of SC links to check. You're in for lots of surprises smile.gif
