I've been trying to find some new acoustic artists to listen to because I'm overplaying all the stuff i like right now. I normally spend all my time listening peopl like jack johnson, dave, dispatch who are all awesome but I listen to them to much. If anyone has any unknown acoustic artists that they like I'd like to try out some new stuff for listening and playing.

Well, for something cool, try Ray Lamontagne, Ani Difranco, or Amos Lee.

My favorite acoustic artist of all time is Tracy chapman.

Bah, Graeme took lots of my list.

Also, if you'd like to check out some cool stuff, Eric Clapton's unplugged is great.

Or, you could also try some acoustic blues such as Robert Johnson.

Dudes: everything Will and Graeme recommended: +1, Iron and Wine, Johnathan Rice (from the EP, new CD is crappy), The Shins are interesting, and Sufjan Stevens is a fav around here.

A fella from down around Austin Texas named Monte Montgomery can kick ass on acoustic guitar, his live shows are amazing, but I haven't listened to any of his stuff on recordings...my guess would be the recorded material wouldn't be quite as good.

Hold on Photon is a guy named Sean Glass. Possibly the best songwriter you've never heard of. Plays an old raggedy parlor guitar. Check him out.
