I always thought the pick-ups were the same. It's the position of them that gives them a different tone. So I'd say it wouldn't matter. Wait until you get a few more replies. I'm sure Dadfad will know.

The pickups also have a certain 'balance' to them, making them better suited for certain positions. That's what the Seymour Duncan sheets that come with the pickups say anyway.

It would work, but it wouldn't sound terrific.

bridge pickups are *usually* overwound relatively to neck pickups to substitute for the lost power that the bridge position gives in general to pickup output.

overwound pickups will sound a bit darker than the usual which is something that is not very desireable in the neck position. you would want clarity there to capture the bassy tones you would be getting.

experiment could never harm. you might like it, you might not like it smile.gif

They also make neck pickups that have alot more of a lead/ballsy tone like a bridge posion pickup.

neck pickups do not necessarily have 'lead' tones per say.

ballsy yes but thats due to the location they are in, in relation to the frequency of the length of vibrating strings.

yes it would work as everyone else has been saying, but something to think about would be the string spacing that the bridge has over the neck. the bridge has a wider string psacing than the neck pickup (but not by much). Go for it if you want, it should still work unless there is something wrong with the pickup. It'll only make a tonal difference on the guitar.
I am very prone to typos, sorry
