I haven't heard the warlock so I cant compare the sound quality, but it is also a choice of style, they are two very different looking guitars smile.gif

I'd prob go with the epiphone.

However neither are great guitars. I don't know that much about BC rich, but I do know that unless you pay big $$$ for one they are pretty poor in quality.

The Epiphone is nice - although I've noticed lots of owners aren't satisfied with them and often replace the pups.

Take neither - save up and get something really good.

O... and play it before you buy it... biggrin.gif

Second that. I've played a friend's BC rich flying V. Believe me, the guitar quality is awful...He brought it new for usd$500 here, apart from being ripped off, he got himself a very low quality guitar. The fret board was kindda worn out already, the wood was bad. Also he had problems in string intonation. If I were chosing a metal-ish guitar, I'd go with Jackson.

Now if you play rock in general, between the 2 you mentioned, better go with the epiphone. My bro bought a epiphone special II some years ago as a starter guitar, it plays good, never goes out in tune, and the wood quality is way better than that BC rich. btw, it was pro series i think. I've heard that only the platinum series is acceptable... the one with floyd rose bridge, speedloader system i think.

I'd take the Epiphone, fairly solid guitar for the money, versatile enough. Into a half-decent amp it should do the job very nicely. Not massively into BC Rich guitars. Go try them both out though, see which one does it for you.

BC Rich is really only good if you're going to be playing heavy metal or other music with heavily distorted guitars. I'd go with the Epiphone...

I couldn't bring myself to buy a Warlock or any other really pointy devil guitars because I don't want folks to think I am an old heavy metal dork. That could affect the level of my coolness in negative ways.

Les Paul beats the B.C Rich hands down on looks and sound and the Rich has a slightly wider fretbord i think, it's been a while since i played one.

I will take the unpopular opinion. I say buy the warlock, burn it, and post a video as you do it.

If your primary reason for buying a guitar is home defense then I would recommend getting the BC Rich, however if you want a guitar for anything else, get the epi.

P.S. Franky, haven't been on in a while and I just noticed how awesome the guitar in your sig is. Is that a korina reissue with P90's? If it's a reissue, what year is it? Either way, very cool guitar.
