Depends what kind of a mood I'm in. My favourites include the Euythmia Crucible Fuzz, Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, Crowther Hotcake. The Maxon D&SII has a fair degree of appeal to me at the moment. The likes of the Tubescreamer and Bluesdriver always get a lot of use, whilst the ProCo Rat is good for a rough raw distortion sound.

Both excellent pedals at what they do.

A volume-control pedal is my most important pedal. Then a compressor.

If I had to pick one that changed the tone of your guitar, probably my old Vox Tone-Bender or my Electro-Harmonix LPB-2. For a non-pedal effects-unit, my old Echo-Plex Maestro (Hook that baby up to a baritone guitar and you most definately got a "Bad Bad Thang." It'll "slap the taste right off your tongue." wink.gif ).

Un-plugged is not the same as never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

I was getting alot of effects units a couple years ago but actually sold off most of them for a profit and bought myself a nice guitar. I still have a few nice ones though. My favorite delays are the Deluxe Memory Man and Boss DD-20. I rarely use distortion unless it is from turning my amplifier up all the way. But I usually have my TS10 Tube Screamer in my chain in case I need a little boost. I try to use effects very sparingly. If I get anything else I might get a tremolo of some kind.

yeah me too. I luuurve the distortion I get from pushing my amp with that thang.

I also like my Bad Horsie 2 wah a lot, it sounds great, and its switchless.

On my new band's first three songs i use some chorus on 2 of the songs....And, oddly [and stupidly] enough I use it during the songs' CHORUSES. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!....sorry. Anyway, yeah, good stuff....

Vox V848 wah
MXR Wylde OD
Keeley TS9 Plus (I actually played one, just haven't gotten one yet, I really liked the tone, a lot less raw than the Wylde provides a good balance)
Deluxe Memory Man
Dyna Comp
Boss Tremolo
MXR Micro Chorus

At some point I'd like to get the following:

Keeley TS9 Plus
Keeley DD3
MXR Flanger

what kind of amp do you have?

I'd kill just to be able to plug straight into a krank and rock out, but my peavey classic 30 can only do so much.

well I have 2 I mainly use, A laney LCR15 It's like 20 watts of tubes, and it has gain and reverb. I can get a good tone for a lot of my music out of that, but it's not good for really heavy metal, for that I use a little marshall 15 watter with lots of gain...

edit: a peavey classic 30 is probably much better than my laney, I guess it all comes down to personal taste. For me I think about all the great music that was made in the 50s 60s and even 70s with little to no effects( Skynyrd used nothing!)
Plus I've bought various pedals, ( DS1, Zoom 505II, Digitech RP60, a chorus pedal...) I have returned them all, too much hassle and money. I will probably buy a wah wah at some point soon once I get some cash coming in, but really, I'm set! I just work with my guitar and amp till I get a beautiful sweet tone.

Although most people don't like it, but I personally really enjoy my Boss MT-2 metal zone. It really gives me the kind of distortion I like, specially combined with some effects of my Digitech RP300. happy.gif
