I only have guitar pro 4, what changes have they made, and is it worth paying out the extra wonga.

Go to my songbook, that is where all the songs, and help features are. biggrin.gif

It's amazing, they integrated a new feature to make the instruments sound more realistic.

How is Guitar Pro compared to Powertabs? Because I have Powertabs, which was free, but my teacher keeps telling me how great Guitar Pro is, which is not.

although guitar pro has better sound (especially in 5), i think powertabs is way better.
its easier to use and tab with, and i like the way it looks.
but i do use guitar pro occasionally for tabs that arent on the powertab site

How so? I haven't had any trouble with Powertabs at all. Besides "realism", I'm not really sure how it could be drastically improved.

I like the multi-track look of GP5 better than the actual tab/notation look of powertab. It also has many more tracks and its easier to find which track is which and theres also drums. You can also look at and print the tab in standard notaion.

In GP5 the drums sounds so good i've used them to make drums for one of my songs and it sounds great you can't even tell that they're not real
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Does Guitar Pro understand transposition, for like woodwinds in brass instruments that when you write something for say Eb instruments like the alto sax, it will put it in the right key and play the proper notes? I want Guitar Pro 5 though.

Powertabs has standard notation as well. But the other stuff sounds cool.
