Very nice, I liked it. While you're on blues instrumentals, you should tackle "The Stumble" next, I'd like to see you play that one.

Very nice, a great blues classic to cover.

I am learning SRV's version currently and have always liked it more. Are you familiar with it? I think its on Couldnt Stand the Weather. (I am not sure though)

The drums could have been a bit louder.

Yet another killer blues video via Testify. Great work, as always. Did you improv at all during the song? havent heard the original in ages...

Wow that was great I tried to watch the clip of you playing the intro to Life without you on soundclick. But I couldn't get it to work I assume it's the one labeled Quick example for a GTU Thread right? I have problem with flash player but the opening video worked just fine I don't get it. But great job man Applause

Yea the stumble would be cool juventusfc99, do you have a backing track to it?

I must admit Nater11 that most of the tune was the john mayall/eric clapton version but i took a few libertys with a turn-around here & there and maybe played certain bits slightly differntly. The bit after 2.10min is improv, but again, mainly because of the backing track, i had to stick that clapton bit in there were they vamp for a bar or so

Yes i am familiar with srv's version Kurtlives. It never appeared on the original release of 'couldnt stand the weather', but they did a digital remaster, and added some unreleased material to all his back cataloge of albums, and i think that was added then. It's is a cool version, but if you look on youtube, it's like that's the only one everyone seems to play. For my money, other then the excellent freddie king original, jeff healeys version from his 'see the light' album is one of the best, and's it's a firm favourite at his live gigs when ever i've seen him.

Thanks OneLostGuitarist, i didnt realize you couldnt get the vid to work. I thought maybe you were thinking that i was trying to be some kind of pretentious arse or something, over at tab request laugh.gif

I have always found it easier to understand whats going on in a solo, when i can see it being played. If your still having trouble with any part of that tune, i would be more then happy to tab it out for you *note my tab skills are weak* but i'm sure you could work them out!! tongue.gif

Cheers for watching guys cheers.gif

I don't have a backing track to it but I know a few good sites on the internet that have alot of good backing tracks, so if I happen to come across it I'll be sure to let you know, I'd sure like to hear you play it. There's got to be a version out there of the original or the Mayall version of it.

This thread makes me wonder though, does it matter if you upload covers to your soundclick? I thought that wasn't allowed?

I am gonna redo them. And more I am trying to add one a week. At least 40 times recorded minimum before posting it. Gonna try some different genres beside metal to. I am a classic rock fan to, with a heavy blues influence to.
