I really should get A Storm In Heaven.

Of course I do. Urban Hymns is their best, easily.

Bittersweet Symphony does not a good album make.

"Bittersweet Symphony", "Lucky Man", "The Drugs Don't Work" and "Sonnet" justify its superiority on their own. What a bloody run of singles that is.

I just really can't stand those songs anymore.

A Storm in Heaven is superior merely because it works better as a whole album, rather than just a collection of singles.

I love those songs. They define my early days in secondary school. And they're still fantastic.

A Storm in Heaven is a FANTASTIC shoegaze album.

yesani.gif

It was weird when it was followed by 'A northern soul' which had more in-your-face-oomph production. Are you familiar with the Gravity Grave-era singles/EPs ? Wonderful stuff.

Yeah, it was weird. I don't like their "poppy" stuff as much as their shoegaze stuff.

Speaking of Shoegaze, I'm really digging Asobi Seksu right now. Have you heard their album?

You're a Britpop child, ain't you? Elastica was the first album I ever bought.

No, it's a real band name. You'd like them a lot. It's a shoegaze band and their lead singer is a japanese girl.

Oh yeah.

Smash Mouth - Fush Yu Mang
Oasis - Be Here Now (shut up, I know I'm the only person on the planet who thinks this is Oasis's best album)
Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters
Silverchair - Frogstomp
Alice in Chains Unplugged

Edit: Insomniac is by far Green Day's best album, a distant second being Dookie.

Be Here Now wasn't really all that bad. I'd give it a close third, trailing behind What's The Story..... Oh and I forgot about a lot of Foo fighters stuff.

I just never saw everyones fascination with the Verve. There was never any life in any of their stuff. However, some of Richard Ashcroft's solo stuff isn't too shabby.

I remember giving you a bit of grief for that actually. I think its just that its not as good as the first two and at the time Oasis were the biggest band in my world and when I heard Be Here Now I was expecting too much.
