I am a Beatles fan and have been for a few years. I love the way they, like the Grateful Dead , make up characters or settings and describe them. Dr. RObert, Mr. Kite, Polythene Pam, Penny Lane(setting), Mr. Mustard, etc.. It seems for most people if you like one Beatles song you will like most other Beatles songs. The White Album and Revolver seem to me to be some of there best work. I guess i just want someone to talk Beatles with so enlighten me.

I'm a Beatles fanatic. I love them because they're just so damn good. There's such a huge variety of songs, and the vast majority of them are brilliant.

They were good, but I wouldn't be a huge fan of theirs.

On Rubber Soul, Listen to "You wont see me" (its better with headphones) Thats why I'm a beatles fan.
It's the harmonys, musicial arrangements, and the "oooh-la-la's" that lennon does.

I don't think any unbiased music fan really dislikes the Beatles.
They pretty much epitomize rock music in general, creative, versatile, and no matter what they did, they generally did it pretty well. And could do all this without taking themselves too seriously.

Yup, that's someone's username in the Beatles forum I frequent. But he ain't the brightest

I've been into their music all my life, the early days and the singles. I've heard their music change album after album how it became more subtile from "Rubber Soul" on after they quit touring. There has been a string of high quality albums from '66 to '70 but I still like the early stuff. The split had been very mediatised back then.

Their history is fascinating...... Why I like them? I suppose its like everyone because of the brillant songs full of new ideas (for the times) their songwriting genuise and they were fantastic musicians. We were 3 brothers when I was kid and the 3 of us were fans. The Beatles were leading the trend. Like Paul McCartney puts it in the anthology: "the 60s were like one ship and the Beatles were at the helm" Simple as that. And to see that they're still loved 4 decades after the split is amazing.

I could probably do without a few of the earlier albums, but they have their good works.
Everybody's bragging and drinking that wine
I can tell the Queen of Diamonds by the way she shine
Come to Daddy on an inside straight
I got no chance of losing this time
No, I got no chance of losing this time

The Beatles were to pop/rock music, what Bach was to the Baroque.

Brilliant.

heres a sample lyrics from thier upcoming cd.......enjoy....PEAC EOUT

Wheeled in on a cart, lying dormant not dead
Hospital of immortality, butcher their patients bloody red
Taken to a dark room, fear of impending doom
The doctor straps you down, with an evil grin
Grabs his rusty blade, ripping through flesh and vein
He tortures his patients through evil means

You can't try to fight them, first they change your brain
beyond the realm of evil, their means are insane
Mutilated beyond belief, but still kept alive
Pathologist of death gouging out your eyes

Guts and blood, bones are broken
As they eat your pancreas
Human liver, for their diner
Or maybe soup with eyes
Cause of death, still unknown
Gnawing meat, from your bones
Bone saw binding in your skull
Brains are oozing a human stump
Needles injected, through your eyes
Puiling off flesh, skinned alive

I like how that to this day bass is centered in a mix and drums are panned through out it... but the Beatles had the bass panned one way and the drums panned another and yet no one complained... but still to this day if i mix something and pan the bass i get complaints... I have the original 4 tracks of Sgt Pepper and i listen to it every now and then i realize how complex it was to get all that instrumentation on just 4 tracks and how much work it was... this is the major reason i like the Beatles

George Martin's skills as producer arranger is more than responsible for the result of the Sgt Pepper's session (he did a hell of a job) As much as Lennon/McCartney's creativity.... Many people call him the 'fifth Beatle' instead of Neil Aspinall (who did his part more than well)

agreed there is just as much werk in the mix as there is in playing the instrument
