Sorry, I don't believe in fiction.

As Stephen Colbert said in one of his episodes that a Catholic Bishop and Holocaust denier had been reinstated to the Church by the Pope, the Bishop believes that 2000 years ago a man rose from the dead yet denies that 60 years ago 6 million Jews were killed by Nazis. I found that rather humorous to be quite honest smile.gif

Either way, I don't really believe in the Bible or Jesus, there isn't enough substantial evidence to prove that Jesus ever existed that would make me believe so or at least that he is a savior who was crucified and rose from the dead, or that God created the universe, I just think it's just going on a he said she said basis to be totally honest. I used to go to Bible school when I was a kid but really I look at it now and I see that some parts of it are just stories and come off as fictional.

Just because a lot of people wrote about the same things in different books doesn't necessarily negate them. I would think that since there are so many accounts of similar happenings it might strengthen the argument. That isn't to say that just because a bunch of books have similar bases it makes it true, but in science, a theory only becomes a law when many different tests are done proving the same thing.

The point is that the Bible was written 3000 years after the book it ripped off, not at the same time. If it were at the same time, then you'd have a valid point, but now you're just talking rubbish.

So when we write history books 3000 years from now they are going to be ripping off books from now and not true?

It's not just a reprint of history, it's a rewrite. It takes the same events and puts them into a new time frame.

Well, I'm not about to defend that validity of the Bible. I believe that what is more important is the message, not the accuracy.

I've never even read the Bible. My faith is based on occurrences and people that I meet.

F*ck, even I have read the Bible. You're sitting there defending it, and you haven't even read it? You suck at life.

I've read countless books about Bible stories and such, and regularly attend Youth Group. It doesn't mean that I don't know what's in there.

Yes it does! That's exactly what it means! You're just getting skewed views from the people who are influential in your life. That sucks, man. At least read it and form your own opinion without the needless changes and minor alterations that make it a bit easier to swallow that have been forced upon you by your "benevolent" leaders. F*ck, man! That's the total epitome of ignorance.
