Why doesn't God just change the poll so he's winning?

As a side note here is one cynical quote by Leo Tolstoy: "Historians are like deaf people who go on answering questions that no one has asked them."

i love tolstoy. firstly because i cannot stand his endless pages of history theory i.e. i love the discussion but i disagree so stop trying to convince me i understand why you think napoleon did such and such and kutuzov did such and such because it doesn't matter so shut up! shut up! i love tolstoy secondly because he had the good sense to run away to a convent and die.

historians are like people who go on asking questions that have already been answered because have you seen how many things not just people around us can answer our questions if only we could figure out what question to ask. illuminating.

If we asked an historian about the library of Alexandria he'd come up with answers similar to the ones you gave. And even then historians dont always share the same views so they have to seek the advice of a theologist or archaeologist depending on the issue to make them agree. Now if we asked the same question to a philosopher or a linguistic scholar they'd be full of theories about what was burned there whether it was important or not ect. I suppose that is why knowledge has to be divided into different fields of expertise. To ask the right question to the right person is as important as the question itself I guess.

I still haven't voted in the poll. Who's winning?

God is losing, mind you being dead does put it at a disadvantage.

"Nietzsche was stupid and abnormal."

yet another Tolstoy quote. (btw, not agreeing with Tolstoy on anything. just having a bit of fun quoting him.)
