Yes, he provoked Gerard by being arrogent.

Oh well. Look on the bright side. If in fact Gerrard actually was guilty, at least us Liverpool fans know we can now punch a Utd fan, and get away with it.

In other news, a nice 5-0 win for us today smile.gif

Is our team championship-winning? Yes, I think you'll find it is. What with us being champions an' all.

Owen's never played in a team that either won the title or were the reigning champions.

edit: Ok I see how you worded it. Badly.

Not that playing for the reigning champions is in any way prestigious, considering he had no involvement the year before.

I know you don't rate Liverpool, so I won't use that argument, but surely you don't class Real Madrid as not being "such a good team"?

And we all know what happened to him there.

Michael Owen would not get away with punching someone in the face.

Cause he's small.

And the other someone would beat the knob off him.

Real were in the middle of their "spend a lot, win very little" phase when he was there. Since 2002, Real have won very little at all.

You can't deny they're a big club though. It was a fantastic opportunity for him to prove himself. The very fact that they were under performing at that particular time was even more of an incentive to get stuck in.

The U.S. basically fielded our 3rd stringers. Only Brian Ching gets capped regularly for the full strength squad, and even he is in the twilight of his career. I hope this will motivate us to beat them at Azteca on August 12th. It will be interesting to see what sort of consistency in form we have from the Confederations Cup into WC Qualifiers.

I think all of the big 4 would be capable of beating the ENT.

Also, Chelsea has looked pretty damn good in their games against Milan/Inter/Club America. Theyve unfortunately been in great form against some decent competition.

What sort of stalwart evidence has the English National team lent the public in convincing us that theyre some sort of infallible side. Almost any top class club in the world could probably beat the ENT. Not to say that the English are a bad squad -- far from it. They could hold their own against any team on the right day. But, I definitely think Arsenal could put it past them.

like I said, I'm sure the ENT could defeat anyone on the right day. but you asked if the big four are capable of doing so, which I certainly think is possible.

anyways, their WC qualifying group isnt exactly intimidating. Croatia and Ukraine arent too threatening. Just flash-in-the-pan 'giant slayers,' at best.

Chelsea, Liverpool and United could all beat England, probably more often than not. Arsenal, though? A team with no defensive midfielders against Rooney and Gerrard? They'd get F'ed in the A.
